Meet the Director: Dale Hutchins

“Hi, I’m Dale, founder of Cannelec, Technical Consultant, Technical Writer, and Registered Electrical Contractor. With nearly two decades of experience across mine sites, power stations, and major infrastructure projects, I’ve worked in everything from hands-on electrical work to technical consulting and documentation.

I started Cannelec in 2018 because I saw a gap in the industry—companies struggling with complex technical documentation, compliance, and data solutions. My goal was simple: make things clearer, smarter, and more efficient. Today, Cannelec provides technical writing, asset management, compliance documentation, and digital solutions to mining, oil & gas, government, and industrial sectors.

I thrive on problem-solving and innovation, constantly refining and developing solutions that help businesses run better, stay compliant, and make informed decisions. Whether it’s writing HSEQ manuals, developing Power BI dashboards, or streamlining CMMS master data, I take pride in delivering work that makes a difference.

When I’m not working, I’m usually researching new technologies, developing ideas, or planning the next big thing—because I love what I do, and I’m always looking to push boundaries.
